Adventurous surfers defy the 82-foot (25-meter) wide razor-sharp rugged sandbar with their reef shoes to get to the water and ride the 2-to-8-foot (0.6-to-2.4 meter) tall waves in Playa Los Reyes break on the beach right in front of the rocks– its best at mid-to-high incoming high tide – with left and right point breaks, swells coming north and south pushing you against the rocks works best with best south swells, and an unforgiving razor-sharp rocky bottom. The normal swell yields waves up to 4 feet.

Sunbathers lie on the sand getting their vitamin D, relaxing and watching those surfers who intend to cross the sharp rock bar without their reef booties.
